Last time we talked about stepping out to follow God on a great adventure. What holds you back? Is it the fear of commitment? The problem with commitment is it just seems so...so...permanent. This photo of Karis is moments before she got her ears pierced. Do you see the fear in her eyes? Again, it just seems so permanent.

We read in the Bible about people just like us who stepped out to follow God. And I bet we could have found a hint of fear in their eyes as they stepped out. We know how the story ends, but they didn't. Think of little David looking up at Goliath and Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednigo about to be thrown in the fiery furnace. They were committed.

“Father, thank you for giving us the courage to step out and make commitments that need to be made, even when a hint of fear looms in our eyes. Amen.”
